Grandmother's Platter PDF
Grandmother’s Platter Wool Appliqué Pattern
Designed by Lydia Middaugh
The idea for Grandmother’s Platter was born while thinking about my grandmother’s china—those beautiful dishes she only used on special occasions. I always wondered: what exactly was she saving them for? I prefer to use the pretty things now—and this floral wool mat is my way of honoring that philosophy.
This project features a graceful arrangement of appliquéd pink blossoms, budding branches, and delicate stitched foliage on rich black felted wool. A sprinkling of iridescent beads adds just the right shimmer. Whether placed under a candle, teapot, or favorite vase, it’s a piece that invites daily beauty into everyday life.
A perfect project for confident beginners or seasoned stitchers alike. Make one for yourself—and maybe one for the grandmother, mother, or friend who always brings out the “good stuff.”
Please note: this listing is for a downloadable PDF pattern only.
Nothing will be physically mailed, so you can jump right in with materials from your own stash. Need a full kit? You’ll find one in another listing!
